The Peace Preludes, inspired by Johann Sebastian Bach (The Well-Tempered Clavier) and Frédéric Chopin (Préludes), lead through all 24 major and minor keys and consistently use an unusual time signature: the 5/16 time signature. This reflects the difficult times due to the corona pandemic, as this work was created and dedicated to its victims.
In a concentrated way, the demanding piano miniatures capture a variety of emotions, with the focus on peace and freedom, both internally and externally, today and in the future.
Magdalena Galka presents Peace Preludes, self-contained musical character pieces that can be played both as a cycle, and as individual pieces.

The composition of the Peace Preludes was funded by a grant from the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg.
